Coffee and Takeoff

5th August 2026

After a relatively uneventful morning (and a general lack of sleep for me) Josh and I are standing in line to board our first of three flights on our way to Harare. We are taking off from JFK this morning and will land in Dubai early tomorrow morning. This will be the longest flight Josh has ever been on (13+ hours). We managed to meet at the airport on time, get our bags checked in, and go through security quickly. That left time for coffee and breakfast before takeoff. After a few phone calls and some last minute prayer request emails our journey is about to begin!

Hopefully we will have WiFi or data enough on our next pitstop to check in with everyone. And hopefully our layover goes smoothly because this will be a short one. Perhaps another time we will have a chance to explore the Dubai airport (for Josh’s sake of course) and try some of their coffee.

See you tomorrow!
